Brett practices in the Family Law and Litigation & Dispute Resolution Groups where her focus is on personal injury litigation.
Brett loves the human aspect of law; she considers the opportunity to help people through stressful, life-altering situations to be a privilege and she takes her responsibilities in this regard seriously. She is known for her empathy and for taking a genuine interest in her clients’ well-being. Brett handles client matters on her own and also acts as co-counsel with other lawyers in the firm, depending on the factors involved in each case. She works hard to earn the trust of her clients and advocates for her clients’ needs using the most appropriate and efficient strategies possible.
Keenly interested in honing her litigation skills, Brett participates in several professional education courses, seminars and conferences in her areas of practice each year. She remains active in the Young Lawyers subsection of the Southern Alberta Branch of the Canadian Bar Association, which she joined after moving to Calgary in 2012, and is also an active member of the Association of Women Lawyers.
Brett grew up in Lethbridge, Alberta. She completed her law degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where she was actively involved in LSLAP, a program dedicated to providing legal services to low income individuals. Prior to law school, Brett earned an undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Lethbridge. She was called to the Alberta Bar in 2012.
When she isn’t practicing law, Brett likes to be outside and often heads to the mountains to snowboard. She enjoys travelling and attending legal, business and charitable events in Calgary.
